Spider is our teacher and guide this week.  She helps us with intuition and the weaving of our fates, and helps us become aware of our creative energies.

On a personal note, I do have to admit that ever since reading Charlotte’s Web when I was a child, I have been partial to spiders, and to this day I happily share my house with them.

Spider is the master weaver, showing us how to create our dreams and plans.  As we are building our plans, Spider reminds us to go in a straight-forward manner, not to take the roundabout way.  This is a time to use our creative energies, even in areas where we may fear we won’t be successful.

Even though Spider has eight eyes, she does not see very well; however, the tiny hairs on her legs are extremely sensitive to the smallest movement.  This reminds us to trust what we feel, not necessarily what we see.

In Native American culture, such as the Pueblo and Navajo/Dineh, Grandmother Spider created the world.  This not only reminds us of our own innate powers of creation and creativity, but also reminds us to go back to the ancient wisdom, our own inner knowing.

Questions to ask when Spider appears:

• Are we taking advantage of opportunities as they arise?
• Is it time to add more creativity to life?
• Are we being too indirect in our communications?

Thank you, Spider, for sharing your wisdom and for being willing to guide us.  For this we are grateful.

This morning as I was getting out of the shower, my attention was captured by a big black spider revealing herself on the ceiling in the bathroom corner.  This spider was BIG, because I had no problems seeing her without my glasses.

Spider illustrates creativity, intuition and the weavings of fate.  Without any preamble, Spider began:

“Here you are, as clean and fresh as the day you were born.  Now is the time to remember the innocence with which you stepped into the world.  This is directed to all humans, not just you, but we trust you will share this message with others.

“It is a difficult time that your world is going through and experiencing.  This is a world that humans have created, of their own free will.  What you are experiencing is the natural consequence of what you have created.  In that sense, there is no reason for you to panic, to be upset.  This is your creation. You have created what you wanted to create.  It is only natural that you are experiencing as you are now.

“We understand that not all wanted to experience this type of life; however, these folks were overwhelmed by the energy of the majority.  Hence, you now have what you have.

“Humans have come to a precipice.  A new life needs to be created.  You are finding your practices and institutions aren’t working.  What are your choices?  Create anew, or not.  We sincerely hope you decide to create anew.

“We, the spiders, are here to help you create your new world.  We are the masters of creation, all you need to do is watch us.

“In watching us, the first change will occur.  Instead of rushing to do, do, do, fix, fix, fix, you will learn stillness and observing.  You will conserve your energy so that you will act only when needed.  You will not expend your energy by reacting to chaos, by creating more chaos.  Instead, you have the opportunity to build a foundational structure for your life, based on synchronicity and order.

“In creating this new life, you will learn to co-operate, to work together, to be one in the web of life.  We find it humorous indeed, that you have created a virtual world wide web, but not one in reality.  Once you are connected to the REAL world wide web, you will experience a sense of peace, a sense of being.

“Your old web is crumbling, and crumbling quickly, right before your eyes.  Once you humans decide to work together, you will see changes, you will see results.  Our hope is with you, the hope of the world is with you, the hope of the cosmos is with you.  We, the spiders, as well as all other creatures and creation, support you.  We hope you are open to our support and help.

“We have all witnessed what humans created by themselves; be open to the help of all creation, and you will see what we can create together.”

Lately It seems I’ve been on a soapbox about help being a two way street.  For too long, humans have set themselves hierarchically above the animals and creation. We have experienced our relationship with animals as help only going one way, from us to them.  In general, we have not allowed help and support to come from the animals to us.

Now is the time to let the animals help us.  As you learned from Spider, they are ready and willing to help us.
