It’s always hard to think that one day our pets will no longer be with us. Yet the time you spend with your pet during the dying process can be rewarding and result in an even deeper and bonding relationship. Your presence can help your beloved pet move through this transition in comfort and peace.
Communicating with your pet companion at this point of her life can assist you in meeting her needs. But she can also meet your needs. Below is a communication I did for a family. They were at a loss as to when and how to let her pass on.
JR: Are you still happy living with us or do you want to be at rest?
D: I am so happy with you – I love living with you. But my days are becoming shorter and shorter. I do not tell you this to scare you. I tell you this so that you are aware of what I’m going through, and so that we can truly rejoice and celebrate the lovely time we have remaining together.
These days are special – these days are precious jewels that we have together.
Do you know of anything better than being with me? I know of nothing better than being with you. So we rejoice! We celebrate! We honor each other in the remaining time we have together.
Do not worry about me – I will go naturally and peacefully. I am peace. I am joy. My transition can be no other than peace and joy.
Yes, there will be tears, but they will be tears of honor -tears of joy. We have a deep bond, a deep connection. I will always be with you, even when I have transitioned to my next plane of being.
You are my family, whom I deeply love. I know that you can’t go with me on this trip. It is a trip I must make on my own. But, our ties are too strong to be broken. As I will always be with you, you will always be with me. We will just be in two different worlds; yet there are times when those different worlds merge together in memories, in thoughts, in smells, in Dreamtime. Then we will laugh and shout and run in joy! Our love is tangible, our love is real, our love connects us forever. We are one true family!
JR: That is so beautiful. This is a special gift you have, a special love you share.
D: Yes, my family is very special. We are very special in our love for each other. We honor ourselves and each other.
JR: Is there a sign you’ll give when you’re ready to go?
D: Yes. You will see my body weaken and my mind will become foggier. A veil will cover my physical world – it will be cloudy and foggy. I will be surrounded by peace – I will be peace. I will be happy. I will be smiling!
JR: Is there anything else you’d like to say?
D: Yes, my family honors me by asking me these questions and wanting to hear what I have to say. They honor me and they bless me with their goodness.
When I am gone, feel the wind – that will be me rubbing against you; feel the glory of your legs as you walk through life – that will be me running through the meadow! When you hear laughter, shout with joy, that that will be me reminding you of all the good times we’ve shared!
Never forget: I am with you; I am with you; I am with you.
JR: Anything else?
D: No, that is quite enough. I have had my say. I am filled with honor and joy. Thank you.
Harmony,
Janet Roper
