billie January 1, 2009 at 2:03 pm: You, too, Janet! These are the kind of fireworks I like best – quiet ones that are in my control! LOL.

I went out at midnight last night to make sure the horses and donkeys were okay in case of fireworks in the neighborhood. There weren’t – which was very nice. It was also nice ringing in the new year surrounded by the herd, giving them extra hay, and doing a midnight mucking. It was cold and quiet and very peaceful.

Surprisingly enough,there were no fireworks here either. Both my dog Emmie and I were happy campers about that.
