Talk2theAnimals Animal of the Week

by Janet on March 15, 2010

Mongoose has shown up this week to share his wisdom with us. You might remember Mongoose as a main character in Kipling’s short story Rikki-Tikki-Tavi.

Mongoose reminds us to stand strong and defend ourselves when necessary.  When we need to defend ourselves, Mongoose asks us to do it with absolute courage, integrity and openness.  When we honesty stand in our strength, the outcome is good for all involved.

A passionate one, Mongoose pursues his goals actively and consistently.  Mongoose stays on course, not deflected from his goal by anything else that is occurring. Mongoose is clear about his purpose and expresses his clarity at every chance he gets.  Think of Rikki-Tikki-Tavi’s battles with the snakes as he protects his family.

Mongoose reminds us to clear away any clutter that is distracting or diverting us from our goal.  Clutter can mean anything from a messy desk, an unorganized mind, interruptions and even friendships or relationships that are no longer good for us.

This is the time to be lightening quick and to take action. If we find ourselves not being able to take quick action, Mongoose is a great one to call on for help.

Questions to ask when Mongoose appears:

  • Am I too bogged down to act with clarity and purpose?
  • Are there times I need to defend myself that I am avoiding?
  • What in my life needs clearing?

Thank you, Mongoose, for coming forward and sharing your wisdom with us. You have much to teach us and for this we are grateful.

Harmony,

Janet Roper
