Got pets? Dogs and/or cats?  Then you will find Dr. Pitcairn’s New Complete Guide to Natural Health for Dogs and Cats a must for your library.  It’s a hefty book, a paperback with 464 pages.  Originally published 20 years ago, it has sold over 400,000 copies.

Prevention is the key to having a healthy pet.  Dr. Pitcairn’s book provides succinct, easy to follow and easy to understand information on natural care for cats and dogs.

The book is divided into two parts, with the first part covering natural health for pets.  In this section you will find information on diet, home-made recipes, exercise, choosing a healthy animal, creating a healthy environment for your pet, dealing with the death of a pet, how to care for a sick animal and holistic and alternative modalities for pets.

The second part of the book is a quick reference section for diseases and even has a section for handling emergencies and giving first aid.

This is an invaluable reference to have on hand, I highly recommend it. To purchase the book, simply click on the book icon and you will be taken to Amazon.

As far as the home-made pet food cat recipes, my 17 year old cat Mitzie gives them 5 out of 5 purrs!

Janet Roper

Love this book! It sits with all my recipe books on the kitchen counter. :)

Hi billie,
Isn’t it a great book, there’s just so MUCH information in it! My 17 year cat Mitzie swears by those recipes. When I can’t get her to eat her regular food (she’s quite picky you know ;-) ) I just mix up a batch for her and she devours it!

Good hearing from you, thanks for stopping by and sharing!

Thank you for the book idea. You know I recently became really interested in Animal Communication after I read Tim Link’s book Wagging Tails. You can learn about how pets communicate telepathically with animal communicator Tim. At the same time, you will be helping out less fortunate animals since a portion of the proceeds from the sales of this book will be donated to selected animal rescue organizations, which is one of the main reasons why I bought this book. Just thought I would let you know…
I think I will get this book you mention because I would love to read more about other animals and know how to care for them in case I decide on getting anymore animals. I love animals – I don’t know a lot about them – but I just love them. I must have been one in my past life or something!
Thanks again for a great post

Hi Chrissy,
Glad you stopped by and mentioned Tim Link’s book. It’s always a good thing to get a book referral. I applaud the way you are learning more and more about animals!
Harmony,
Janet
