Spring Care for Horses

by admin on April 21, 2009

I have just returned from the barn and taking care of Shiloh: deworming, feeding, grooming, and spoiling–not in that particular order.  This was the first day that he was out grazing, and it made me think of the horse care that needs to be provided with the onset of spring.  Click here to read more about the Spring Checklist for Horses.

I had asked Horse what my teaching of the day was, and this is how he replied: HORSE: “Today move slowly with pride and dignity.  This [...]

Moon Blindness in Horses

November 16, 2008

Three years ago, my horse Shiloh had his left eye removed due to moon blindness, or equine recurrent uveitis (ERU).  Behind the Bit has posted an excellent article on ERU, so I won’t go into the health or physical issues, but I’ll talk about it from an animal communicator’s point of view. From my point [...]

Animal Communication: Relationship, Not Power Over

November 12, 2008

Not long ago I met with a dear friend and inspiring woman, Teresa Thomas- Carroll, Director of MN Women In Networking, LLC.  We met at a local coffee shop, had a wonderful time talking and reconnecting.  Teresa is a networker and connector extraordinaire, so it seemed only right and synchronistic that as we parted ways, [...]
