“ ….. I hear you as an equal for I am nothing without the whole, and you are part of the miracle that is the Universe. I will hear you always, knowing how you hear me in your mind, in your heart and in your soul “ ~ Margrit Coates

I have always known that animals talk, and that we can hear them if we choose to listen. I have always known that animals respond to healing energy channelled by humans, and that animals can help people through a similar soul to soul healing connection.

Although some vets and doctors will disagree, the term ‘healing’ is not exclusive for humans who practise medicine. Animals heal humans, yet they do not give us drugs or operate on us! When I talk about ‘ healing ‘ I mean the holistic approach on a soul to soul level, and using the hands to connect to a Universal source of beneficial energy, that then travels to the body of the animal in need ( or human in need ).

Working on the same wavelength as the Universal beneficial source of healing energy, is the intuitive/telepathic energy vibration level. Therefore we can connect to both the healing wavelength and the communication simultaneously. I am always mindful that the intuition can operate through the ego or the soul. Sadly I have come across people who profess to be communicating with animals, but are working through their own ego agendas. I am sure that others will have noticed this too. This does animals a great disservice – to send out a clear message to a human but to have that person misinterpret it or not listen soul to soul, is not just frustrating for the animal, but depressing too. It means that the help that is needed, is not going to be given.

So how do we tune in through our soul, and the not ego? It is more than sending out our love, because both the soul and the ego can do that. It means being humble, not having an agenda, not wanting to be the centre of attention or pleasing an owner or amusing an audience. It means giving our full attention to the animal and having integrity through listening to him or her. Animals ask that we are witness to their truth, not to human ways, or our own take on things. The clearest messages come when we are selfless.

When I work with an animal I set everything from my mind aside. My mind is like a blank piece of paper ready to see, hear or sense information. I invite the animal to say what he or she wants to. I don’t go with a set of questions. By being fully open to the animals’ way of communicating and accepting what comes, this may give the information needed to help with any problems, or it may lead us to a completely different scenario. Animals deserve to be treated as the individuals that they are, because they are not a What they are a Who.

I have heard some people say that animal communication or animal healing, is available for a select number of gifted individuals. This is definitely not true! Everyone can lay a healing hand onto an animal if they choose to tune into peace and love. Everyone can connect to animals intuitively if they clear their mind of everyday clutter and tune into soul energy. Becoming accomplished in these things just takes practice. A healing communication connection encourages us to experience the deepest possible bond with the animals in our lives.

I wrote, in the opening poem Awakening to Animals, at the beginning of my book Communicating with Animals ….

“ ….. I hear you as an equal for I am nothing without the whole, and you are part of the miracle that is the Universe. I will hear you always, knowing how you hear me in your mind, in your heart and in your soul “

Knowing animals as an equal is who they guide me to be. Each time I am with an animal I learn something special and unique. It’s wonderful, and I am indebted to all the animals that I meet for being my amazing teachers.

i lost my 17 year old daughter aleisha, it was very sudden and unexpected, she went to sleep as usual and passed during the night, 2 days later our family dog and aleishas best friend for 14 yrs lay down and went with aleisha, my only comfort was that he was by her side, loving and keeping her company as he had done in life. This was 7 mnths ago and i truly believed that i couldnt carry on, untill we rescued Toby, a 2 yr old belgian shep x, he had been severley abused and neglected, and had then spent a yr in kennels. But in reality toby has rescued me, giving me a reason to get out of bed and healing me with his love and loyalty

In the Bible, we are told to ask and they will tell us and teach us. I’m not sure I know how to listen. How do you learn how to listen?

    • Janet June 14, 2013 at 11:01 pm #

Bonnie, that’s an excellent question. Extend the definition of ‘listen’ to include your other senses, and how information comes to you. So then you can ‘listen’ in pictures, in feelings – both physical and emotional, in seeing pictures in your mind’s eye, in dreams. Know what I mean? I’m looking forward to what Margrit has to say about this ;-) Good luck!

I listen by feeling with my heart, and sensing through my soul. I say to the animal
‘ who are you ? ‘ and explore what information comes to me. Hope that helps Bonnie.

Thanks for a great post Margrit! Ego definitely is our biggest challenge I agree, and having received so much healing from the wonderful animals in my life I’m totally with you on that too. The only thing that makes sense in my life right now is learning to deepen a connection with animals so that I can communicate and facilitate healing for them. Thanks for all your inspiration and help with my journey. Looking forward to your new book hugely – and to seeing you in Guildford next week. Aloha!

I had an amazing connection with my Arabian Auraisto, who was with me in this life for 25 years. When his old legs were not supporting him anymore I asked him to let me know when it was time and I’d make sure his pain would end. Two days later he showed me he was ready to move on. The day our vet showed up to help him pass, we spent the morning with him and had a sort of party – all the treats he could eat, endless grooming and scratches in all the right places. In the end the process was very peaceful. I’m so glad we were able to communicate and he was able to leave this world on his terms.
